New Orleans in its slow, humid glamour — jasmine on the night air, a horn drifting up from Magazine Street, and a pool the colour of sea glass beneath striped umbrellas. Days move between spa treatments and John's sessions in candlelit rooms; evenings end late, in velvet banquettes, with jazz. One residency in the sultry summer, one in October.
